Torrie sighed deeply as she finished bleaching Bishop's last leg. Baron was the worst though, he would purposely walk through mud the day before a big competition or something important. She quickly put the bucket and sponge away in her tack room and glanced at her watch. A moment of panic flooded over her when she saw it was 6:00. It looked like she wasn't having any dinner. She only had half an hour to load the two and drive into town. It would have been so much easier if Darren or Tye were there. These two were a handful sometime. But she knew she couldn't call Darren because he'd be in class, and Tye was back in Idaho. She sighed and determinedly set off. She threw hay into the other horses before dumping a flake onto each side of the trailer. She quickly loaded all the tack and decorations before adding the grain and clasping the lead rope to Bishop's halter. She began walking towards the trailer, Bishop resisting slightly. Surprisingly Bishop walked on, a little hesitant, but he went on. She closed the door behind him and went to get Baron. She clasped the lead on to his navy halter and trudged on to the trailer. She almost had him up the ramp and onto the trailer when he decided to be a brat. He threw his head up, nearly hitting it on the top of the trailer. He began running backwards until he was out of the trailer. Torrie was dragged along with Baron, the lead wrapped around her boot. She sighed angrily before trying again. The same thing happened. She rolled her eyes in frustration before trying again. This time he got on, but with great disapproval. She closed both doors on his side and ran around the trailer, checking everything. She quickly hopped into the drivers side of her beat up Chevy and started it up. It puttered for a few minutes before failing. She screamed angrily and slammed her palm on the steering wheel. She tried again, this time the truck pulling into life. She drove carefully over the twisty road, resisting the temptation of speeding. When she had the trailer, she drove very carefully though.

She pulled into the park parking lot, quickly finding a spot. She bounded out of the car, unloading the stallions. She quickly glanced over the area, trying to see if she could find Keifer. She began madly brushing Baron, who had calmed down significantly. She jumped into the people part of the trailer to grab Baron's tack and decorations. She swung the saddle over his back, fastening the girth snugly. She draped the flower blanket over his broad shoulders, attaching it to the saddle. Torrie stood back, admiring her stud. Baron had won a lot of ribbons from various shows, mainly halter and now she knew why. He was very much eye candy. She smiled, giving him a huge hug and a cookie. She began to brush Bishop and tack him up too. He was younger than Baron, and in most cases you could tell. He was definitely very handsome, but not as much as Baron. He was very strong in the English classes though. That is where he won most of his ribbons. A wave of anger and sadness washed over her as memories began flooding back.
Torrie and her best high school friend used to compete clyde's in freestyle as a pair. They won a bunch of competitions too, they were actually really good. That was before her life had fallen apart. Torrie's best friend had been killed in a high school shooting 7 years ago. She still hadn't gotten completely over it, they had been inseparable.
She shoved those memories out of her as quickly as they had come and waited for Keifer to come.
