Take a step back in time

[Torrie]

Damen slowly ate his last bit of chicken noodle soup before remembering his plans for tonight. He dropped his empty bowl in the sink with a clank before rushing over to his back pack. He pulled out his history binder, finding the requirements. They were to make a script using slang from the time period. They didn't have to present, the just had to make one up. He leafed through some ruff ideas, but shoved those aside. He grabbed a blank note pad and his pens. Smiling, he left his dorm, quietly closing the door. He made his way to the comfortable glass-enclosed courtyard just outside the front doors. He found a vacant table and lay out his papers, waiting for Dylan to show up. He really had hoped she rememebered. He almost forgot, so he wouldn't be surprised if she had. He sighed heavily waiting for her to come.

She ran down the stairs to the main floor of the dorms. She was heading to wards the courtyard that connected the girls and boys dorms. she smiled to some girls who passed by as she made her way to the lobby. when she entered the lobby Julie came in from outside. she was close she could see him threw the doors sitting alone at a table. But of course Julie stopped to talk.

Heading for your big date are ya?

Dylan smiled weakly at Julies comment.

It's not a date we are partners fro a project.

Right but does he know that?

She said as she walked up to there dorm room. She rolled her eyes and opened the doors to the court yard and walking to ward the table. she sat across from him opening her bag and taking out a pen and some paper.

sorry I'm late, i got umm....caught up...

she smiled weakly at him. She was to tired from the school day she had no energy left. Even though she got a spare, she had still had a test in math and science. this semester was a a killer. she would be lucky if she survived without permanent damage!

Damen smiled warmly to Dylan as she pushed her way though the heavy glass doors. He accepted her apology, though she had nothing to apologize about.

You're not late, I was just early

He said, in attempts to perhaps make her feel better. He noticed her exhaustion, knowing she had to handle a lot during the day. He pulled out his books from his bag and placed them on the cafe-like table. He was about to start up when he looked at her again. She was really tired, he could tell.

Dylan, do you just want to work on this some other time? You seem really tired.

[serena]

She wrote her name in the corner of a piece of paper. she yawned and put the lid back on her pen. She had to go and ride Frank after this. She heard his question and looked at him in surprise, was she really that tired...yea she was but she could handle it.

No no its fine. Just a little tired.

She smiled looking down at her sheet and back up again.

So you said you had some ideas? Lets hear em'.

She leaned across the table closer to him studying his face. He had really pretty eyes, his face was just really cute, chiseled and rugged looking....then she realized she had drifted a little to far across the table and she jolted back wards with such force that she fell right off the bench. she found herself laying on the ground looking up at the sky. she was really embarrassed but this whole thing seemed really funny, her laying on the ground. it must have looked really funny to him, one minute she was in his face and then whooooosshhhh she was flying back wards and then she was gone. she couldn't hold it in she let out a loud burst of laughter and she kept laughing until tears were streaming down her face and she wanted to stop because she probably looked like a drowning hyena but she couldn't so she just kept laughing.

He smiled, flipping though his book of ideas. He had so many jot notes that it was hard to find them. He finally found his various little notes, in green pen. He was just about to begin talking to her when he found her flat on the ground. He was relieved when she started laughing, and couldn't help himself either. He began laughing quite hard before he went over to her to make sure she was okay.


Well okay, I didn't relize you wanted to work on the ground, but what ever is cool.


He said jokingly, offering her his hand to help her get up. He smiled, trying to keep back more laughter, but was unsuccessful. This time only a few chuckles came out before he placed himself on the bench again. He tried to look at her, but couldn't without breaking into a laughing fit.


I'm sorry, but I don't think I will beable to look at you seriously for the rest of the night.


He said in between laughs.

Instead of taking his hand and pulling herself up, she took it and yanked as hard as she could dragging him of the bench and onto the ground beside her.
she laughed even harder turned toward him so she was laying on her side looking at him. she looked at his face and into his eyes and stopped laughing. she shifted her body closer to him and put her hand behind his head and leaned in kissing him gently on the lips. She pulled back as soon as she realized what she was doing and jumped to her feet.

Sorry, sorry..ummm...maybe another night would be good for this...i...i'm... really......really tired.

She said in a rush brushing the leaves from her pants and backing up quickly. she grabbed her stuff off the table kept backing away from him. She didn't know what to do. She just kissed him and there only friends, she didn't mean to she didn't, how could...BAM!!!!!!! her foot caught on a root to one of the trees in the courtyard and she fell back wards. paper and pen flying everywhere.

Not again.

she moaned sitting up and rubbing the back of her head. she had hit it on a small rock and it was pounding. she couldn't concentrate her head hurt so much.

[Torrie]

He glanced at her on the ground, a brief laugh escaping. The next minute he was being pulled down to the ground. He landed surprisingly softly on the grass, a confused look on his face. He felt her lips on his, finally clueing in. He kissed her lightly back, involved in the moment. He lay on the damp ground as she sprung to her feet before he too bounced up. He nodded slowly to her.


Yes, perhaps tomarrow night.


The sensation still stinging his lips. He turned around to be greeted by Dylan taking a major wipe out on the ground


Oh my gosh! Are you alright Dylan?


He ran over to her side, dropping his books and pens. Atleast he knew a bit of first aid, and the nurse was close by. He did a bit of a visual test on her head.

She felt his body beside her and she looked over at him. Her head was starting to hurt less and she felt the dizziness leave. She looked into his eyes. He looked really worried. His English accent sounded so much thicker then before. Maybe she was just paying more attention or she could be delirious.

Yea, I'm fine.

At that moment she didn't care what he thought or what he wanted. All she cared about was what she wanted, and she wanted nothing more then to kiss him. She leaned closer and placed her hand on his cheek, kissing him softly again.

Damen relaxed a little bit when Dylan said she was fine. He smiled and hugged her tightly, so pleased she was alright. Something like that had happened to his cousin which put him in a coma. The sun had been setting quickly, leaving a glow around Dylan. The shadows from the streetlights danced across her face, making the moment even more captivating. He sat on his knees waiting for her to get up before he allowed himself to rise. A brief feeling of surprise overwhellmed him as he felt her lips against his again, the strange sensation lingering. A smile crossed his face as he kissed her back. He broke away, hugging her again and helping her to her feet. He grabbed the books and pens that were splayed across the ground before returing to Dylan's side.


I think they might give us funny looks if we sit on the ground.


He slipped his arm under hers, wrapping it around her shoulder for a slight support.

She hugged him back and then got up from the ground. She picked up her pens and paper that had fallen when she fell...again. She relaxed into his side when he put his arm around her. Then she remembered Frank, she had to ride him tonight. she hadn't ridden him for 2 days already and her lesson we tomorrow so she had to get his mind working again.

ummm.. i have to go ride my horse, you can come if you want.

She didn't know if he was into horses or not. the students at the school didn't have to like horses, though most of them did.

I have to go get changed but i will see you at the barn if you want to come.

She kissed him on the cheek and walked threw the door into the girls dorms, flashing him a mischievous smile before disappearing from sight.
